OUR VALUES
ABOUT
We make high-quality furniture for commercial and residential customers, primarily using locally sourced wood.
When we say locally sourced, we mean it. We frequently work with downed and fallen trees rescued from the North Shore ("Gold Coast") of Long Island, and source other American hardwoods from trusted partners when a project calls for it.
Every piece is handmade and completely unique, retaining all the remarkable fascination and wonder of the most atypical wood.
Not an item you keep and use until it falls apart — these are heirloom pieces meant to be handed down for generations. The way American furniture used to be made, and the way it should still be made.
Our goal is simple: build you something you'll never want to get rid of.
Read our story and learn about how we got started rescuing downed and fallen trees and making custom furniture.
Our work has been featured in local publications, including Long Island Press, and the North Shore Leader.

OUR TESTIMONIALS
Lorraine, Westchester, NY
"Perfection and Professionalism!!
To date, Joe has built a beautiful custom table for a client; and for me: he has refinished my 1960 original prototype Cumberland Furniture dining table which I had the confidence only with him to do.
Then today we received back our original 1953 Karpen of California lounge chairs which Joe brilliantly reinforced and restored.
Again, I wasn’t going to trust these antiques to anyone with whom I didn’t have full confidence.
5 Stars Sound Designs!!

"Joe does great work. He built an awesome end table for me. Updated along the way and delivered it with a smile. "
Tim Garvin, Amagansett Golf Club
"If a tree falls in the golf course and no one sees it…actually no one cares except Joe Ferrara from Sound Designs in Glen Cove who will turn that tree into a piece of art for your golf shop or course.”
